Noelie enjoying her promotion to big sister.
Eli made his debut on July 4th at 6:46 a.m. at a whopping 9 lbs 3 oz and 20.5 inches. For those wanting the blow by blow delivery saga read on, if not skip to next paragraph. Water broke at 10:30 pm just as we were getting comfy for a good night's sleep. I didn't really start contracting very hard until around midnight and with that I got sick and remained sick the entire labor until I delivered. (My apologies to my family and the doctors who had to keep the buckets in rotation.) I thought we were going to loose Jason as he started getting sick and watching me be sick but he managed to stick it out. Of course mom was in mom mode and likely thinking she'd never again cook the delicious meatloaf dinner we had the night before. Then my poor brother dropped in just as the sickness was coming on and got pulled into the bucket relay. When they said at 5 a.m. it'd likely be another 4 hours before I had the baby he decided to go home and get some sleep and just as he left they decided it was time for delivery so he went through all the bad stuff and missed the excitement of Eli coming.
We are now home and thus far he's a really good eater! We are hoping he keeps this up as he is also a good sleeper with the full belly and all. Noelie is a very helpful big sister - minus the part where she likes to sneak his pacifier into her mouth... not sure about that one.
Our first morning all together at the house was a challenge. I now know what the phrase 'up to your a**hole in alligators' now means. We had a dirty diaper and screaming hungry baby and a toddler projectile vomiting grape juice onto our white bedding and floor all at once. Oh,boy! Anyway, we survived the hiccups and the rest of the day seemed pretty smooth in comparison.
Today we had our first visit with the doctor and Eli checked out fine.
There was a concern he had broken his clavical in delivery but this seems to be ok now(evidentally mommy wasn't built to have a baby of such stature - thank Goodness they didn't let me go another 3 weeks to my due date as he would've been 12 lbs).
